Ayse Muge (Maggie): A Talented and Passionate Director/Producer with a Global Perspective

Ayse Muge (Maggie), a Turkish-British director/producer, writer, and performer, brings a unique blend of creativity, technical expertise, and global experience to her work. Born in Istanbul, where East meets West, Muge has lived in both Bournemouth and London, immersing herself in diverse cultures and artistic traditions. She is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) and Equity, demonstrating her commitment to excellence and her dedication to the art.

With a passion for bringing diverse and unique stories to life, Muge has honed her craft in both television and theatre. She started her career in investigative journalism for television, exploring real-world issues with a critical eye. Later, she transitioned into music documentaries, showcasing the power of music to connect people across cultures. Her work with children earned her a nomination for the British Council's Cinema-TV Young Entrepreneur Award, recognizing her commitment to engaging young audiences.
Muge's technical skills are as impressive as her creative vision. She owns her own production equipment, including cameras, lighting, and sound systems, enabling her to handle small-scale productions and create high-quality content. Her expertise in filmmaking and videography extends to interviews, talking heads, monologues, and actor training.

In addition to her work behind the scenes, Muge is actively involved in on-stage productions. She co-founded the theatre company "Wolf & Tiger Co." with her long-time collaborator Ashley Hudson, bringing their creative voices together to explore new theatrical possibilities. Wolf & Tiger Company’s play "Flight of the Fearless" (written by Muge) will grace the stage at the Glitch in 2024. Muge also lends her talents to Netil Radio, contributing to the show "Captain Gemini: Travel Back in Time."

Muge's passion for Turkish culture and its rich heritage shines through in her work. She is well-versed in Turkish traditions and is eager to share them with the world, inspiring filmmakers and performers to explore the depths of Turkish stories and characters. Her knowledge and expertise can be invaluable for anyone seeking guidance on filming in Turkey or portraying Turkish characters authentically.
